Community Events

The Montana Historical Society hosts community events on a wide variety of topics relating to the Treasure State’s history and culture.

We are celebrating the opening of the Montana Heritage Center with a multi-day series of events in partnership with the Helena community June 25-28, 2026. Learn more about the events being planned on the Montana History Celebration page.

Community events throughout the year include a lecture series, summer walking tours, hands-on history workshops, family and kids programs, open houses, interactive games, special holiday events, and more. Every fall, the Society also holds its annual Montana History Conference.

Can’t make it? Watch archived recordings on the MHS YouTube Channel as well as a variety of great presentations.
